‘Never seen a bigger whiner and complainer’: Caitlin Clark faces heavy criticism after ‘constant crying’

Indiana Fever superstar used a dominant second-quarter performance to help propel the Indiana Fever to an 86-77 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Monday night, snapping Indiana’s two-game losing streak. Unfortunately, Clark’s fourth quarter is the one that is more likely to be remembered.

The point guard got into it with Mercury star and future Hall of Famer DeWanna Bonner, leading to a heated exchange that escalated into multiple players on both teams being assessed technical fouls.
#Fever star Caitlin Clark just picked up her fourth foul and a tech, which is her fifth tech of the season. The limit is eight before a player gets suspended.

Fans are growing frustrated
It’s far from Clark’s first heated exchange this season, whether it be with opposing players, referees, or her own head coach, and a large swath of fans on social media have grown frustrated with what they deem to be unnecessary antics from the sharpshooter.
“Honestly, this is more like football. CC is by far the most skilled player on the floor. The Pete Maravich of her league. But her constant crying and getting in people’s face doesn’t help her or the team. A bit of the spoiled brat syndrome,” one fan posted on X.
“Never seen a bigger whiner and complainer. Also never seen a player who is so openly disrespectful to the officials. Yes, they miss some calls. They aren’t doing it on purpose,” someone else posted.
Clark is just as upset
Ironically, Clark was just as upset with the exchange, considering it put her only three more technical fouls away from receiving an automatic one-game suspension.
“It’s ridiculous, I got a technical for clapping,” she told media members in her post-game press conference, according to Fever reporter Chloe Peterson. “We should all just go on the calendar now and pick a game I’m going to be suspended for if I’m going to get technicals for clapping.”
The Fever and Mercury will face off again on Wednesday night, and if any bad blood from the ending of Monday’s game carries over, game officials could find themselves between a rock and a hard place fast as they try to keep things under control.
