General Manager of South Western Railway Inspects KSR Bengaluru – Somanayakkanpatti Section

P. Ananth, General Manager, South Western Railway, conducted an inspection of the KSR Bengaluru – Somanayakkanpatti section on 18 June 2026. During the inspection, Ananth carried out a window trailing inspection of the section and reviewed various safety and operational parameters. At Kuppam Railway Station, he reviewed the progress of redevelopment works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He also inspected the station premises, modernization works at the existing station building, parking facilities, and staff quarters. The General Manager instructed officials to enhance parking capacity to accommodate the growing number of vehicles and meet future passenger requirements.
Later, he visited Bangarapet Railway Station and inspected the second-entry ticket counter building. He also reviewed the waiting hall and other passenger facilities being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The General Manager advised officials to provide escalators at suitable locations to improve passenger convenience. He also inspected the station premises and ongoing development works. Later, Ananth inspected the Devanagonthi Oil Siding and reviewed its operational efficiency and freight handling activities.

The General Manager later visited the Satellite Goods Terminal at Whitefield and inspected the goods shed and related freight infrastructure.
Parikshith Mohanpuria, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Division; Gul Ashfaque Mohammad, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti Unit and other railway officials were present during the inspection.
