Lulama Hughes, a popular TikToker, called out Bonelela “Buzza” Mgudlwa, a man suspected to be Anele Mdoda’s husband, for his somewhat strange behaviour towards her.

ANELE MDODA’S ‘HUSBAND’ DRAGGED BY TIKTOKER

In a video titled “Anele’s husband trying to humble me,” Lulama Hughes recounted her story of having lunch with her 72-year-old white friend in Sandton. However, she noticed two men sitting behind her, one of whom kept staring at her.

Eventually, he got up, walked towards them, and told Lulama that her friend was beautiful.

“Get ready with me while I tell you Anele’s husband trying to humble me,” she began.

“So, I’m [was] in South Africa the other day in Sandton. I’m about to have lunch with a 72-year-old friend of mine. White. And notice that behind me is this gentleman wearing a green suit. He keeps staring our way,” she added.

Eventually, he got up, walked towards them, and told Lulama that her friend was “so beautiful.”

“After an hour of having lunch, he comes to our table, and he’s grinning. He comes straight to me and says I’m so sorry to disturb you. I just wanted to tell her (the friend) that she’s so beautiful, but then he is telling me,” she said.

Lulama was confused by this and quietly wondered why he wouldn’t just share that with her friend.

“I’m wondering why is he telling me, why is he not telling her,” she said.

REFLECTIONS FROM THE AFTERMATH

Then the friend asked Lulama, “Why is it that black men find the need to humble black women in front of white women?” Because this is exactly what I’m seeing.”

After much reflection, Lulama realised that the guy was somehow humbling her by not complimenting her as well.

“At first I thought he was being opportunistic but when my friend was like “he’s trying to humble you in front of me.”

“What was the need for him to come and tell me that she’s beautiful. Why didn’t he tell me that I’m also beautiful?” Oh, and then I realised I wasn’t looking vanilla.”

“So he came to humble me as a gorgeous black woman in front of a white old woman. I don’t know why he did that.”

THE COMMENTS FLOODED IN

The masses did not receive the video too well, stating there was no need to post it and that, Lulama should not have dragged Anele’s name into the situation.

MORE DRAMA SURROUNDING THE COUPLE

April 2026 proved to be quite a hectic month for the lovebirds, with drama constantly surrounding them.

Firstly, Buzza defended Anele when damning fraud allegations surfaced connecting him and Katleho Mokonyane, the daughter of ANC’s Nomvula Mokonyane, to a R14 million COVID-19 PPE tender.

Later that month, news broke that the court ordered Anele to pay her former helper, Florence Mlalazi, a R90,000 settlement.

This came after claims that she “unfairly dismissed” Florence over car‑related issues and other disputes.
