The Miami Dolphins are entering the 2026 season with few to little expecations.
After a complete overhaul of their roster and front office, the Dolphins are building from the ground up. With that will come some massive struggles on the football field, resulting in very few wins.
Things look bleak for the Dolphins this upcoming season, and that may be the case for a handful of seasons. Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report listed every NFL team's current Super Bowl window and provided a bad outlook for the Dolphins.
Gagnon believes Miami's Super Bowl window is closed.
"Malik Willis could change this status soon with enough support, but there are too many unknowns with this franchise following significant roster and regime turnover this offseason. The Dolphins have the worst Super Bowl odds in the AFC for a reason."
The Dolphins have a lot more questions than answers ahead of the 2026 season, which is to be expected for a franchise in the early stages of a rebuild.
Dolphins facing long road through rebuild
As the organization works to reshape the roster and establish a new foundation with general manager Jon Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley, uncertainty comes with the territory.
On paper, Miami is a young and inexperienced team entering the season, which is a recipe for disaster in the NFL. On top of that, the Dolphins have the second-toughest schedule in the league and don't have a home game until Week 3 of the upcoming season.
That's just for this season. There's a ton of uncertainty about Malik Willis and whether he can be the quarterback of the future for the Dolphins. In addition, will the young pieces on defense pan out?
Hafley and the Dolphins' front office have plenty on their plate as they attempt to guide the franchise through its rebuilding phase, and only time will tell whether their vision ultimately pays off.
For now, however, it appears Miami is facing a long and challenging road back to contention.
