· IGN

A new trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved confirmed the game's release date and showed a new look at the three brand-new missions for the game.

The trailer confirmed that the game is imminent as Halo: Campaign Evolved will release on July 28, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. In an Xbox Wire blog post, Microsoft confirmed that players can get five-days of early access and play the game on July 23rd if they purchase the premium edition ($69.99) or collector's edition ($199.99). The base game will cost $49.99.

Instead of showing us new looks at iconic missions with a new coat of paint, the trailer focused on the new story missions known as Operation: METEORITE that were made exclusively for this remake. They'll take place one year before the events of the main game with Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson going on an exciting new mission. Perhaps more excitingly, at least one of these new missions will feature space combat. These new missions were created in collaboration with Troy Denning, who penned a number of Halo novels.

As already noted, there will also be two special editions for the game. The $69.99 premium edition will include early access, in-game skins, a digital artbook, and a digital short story that leads into the events of Operation: METEORITE. The $199.99 collector's edition will include everything in the premium edition plus a 12-inch statue of Master Chief from Dark Horse, a light-up Cortana chip, a physical copy of a reimagined version of the original game's manual, a steelbook, art prints, and yes, an actual game disc (except for the PC version).
