Jesse Minter gives an encouraging injury update on Teddye Buchanan

Sometimes, the absence of bad news is the good news. That feels especially true when discussing injured Baltimore Ravens during organized team activities. Coaches often speak cautiously and avoid attaching firm recovery timelines to anyone rehabbing significant injuries. There has been no deviation from that plan when referencing two of Baltimore's most polished defenders. Still, even though there wasn't much of an answer about when Teddye Buchanan may return, what was said may still be seen as encouraging.
Jesse Minter praises Teddye Buchanan's work ethic during rehab
It's difficult not to feel encouraged about where things currently stand when listening to Ravens head coach Jesse Minter. He met with reporters following an OTA practice session open to the media. First, he referenced defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike and offered an encouraging update on his recovery from neck surgery. He also mentioned Buchanan’s recovery, and despite stopping short of offering any concrete timetable, his tone certainly didn’t sound overly concerned.

"Teddye, I think, is really far ahead of schedule. Everybody kind of knows the timeline of when (his injury) happened, but the way that guy operates (and) the way that guy works... I don't think there is a timeline for him. He's an impressive dude in how he goes about his business, just as most of our guys are."
Coaches rarely go out of their way to praise a player's rehab process publicly unless there’s genuine confidence behind the comments. Minter, highlighting Buchanan's approach, professionalism, and work ethic, seems to show he has made a strong impression.
Considering how last season ended for Buchanan, that optimism matters. The rookie linebacker suffered a frightening knee injury during Baltimore's Week 15 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium. Initially, there were fears of a torn ACL. He was carted off the field and later left the stadium using a cane.
For a fourth-round rookie who had already begun flashing legitimate upside, it was a brutal ending to an otherwise promising first season. The Ravens clearly still believe in that upside. In fact, Ravens Wire recently named Buchanan among seven Baltimore players who could potentially earn their first Pro Bowl nod this season.
That alone says plenty about how the organization views his long-term potential, which makes Minter's comments even more encouraging. No, there still isn't an official timetable for Buchanan's return. The Ravens are understandably avoiding unnecessary pressure or expectations this early in the process.
At the same time, teams don't usually sound this relaxed about a player unless they feel very good about the direction things are heading. Judging by Jesse Minter's comments, Baltimore appears to believe Teddye Buchanan's future remains very bright.
