Gunshots apparently rang out near the White House Saturday night, per multiple reporters who were on the grounds at the time.

The big picture: Local and national TV correspondents who were at the White House reported hearing multiple shots, and being told by the Secret Service to take shelter.

Driving the news: Video posted to social media by ABC reporter Selina Wang features the sound of what appears to be dozens of shots going off, followed by TV crews diving for cover.

For the record: The White House did not immediately return a request for comment.
