Major League Baseball's trade deadline isn't until the beginning of August this year, a bit later than the end of July.

The New York Yankees, who typically make the necessary moves at the trade deadline to improve their roster, might not be able to wait too much longer to address some of their biggest needs.
New York is still a very good team on paper, and while they definitely need to add in some places, they should still feel relatively confident about how the roster looks right now.
Regardless, there's no debate that the Yankees have to add in one key area, and that's been on full display over the past few weeks. That location is none other than the bullpen, as the Yankees' bullpen just hasn't been good enough to suggest that they're a team that can win a World Series right now.
“The Yankees had reason to be concerned about their bullpen even before David Bednar started coughing up late leads; now that the closer spot is its own question mark, Brian Cashman has a four-alarm fire to address at the trade deadline. There just aren't enough arms for Aaron Boone to trust with high-leverage spots right now, and the ones he can — like Fernando Cruz and Brent Headrick — he runs the risk of working into the ground,” Chris Landers wrote.
The sad part is that the Yankees have some decent names in the bullpen, and if everything goes right, they're probably one of the better units in the league. However, there's no such thing as winning games on paper, so Brian Cashman will be tasked with improving a bullpen that could be the reason why he does or doesn't win the World Series.
