Many insiders are expecting the New England Patriots to swing a trade for A.J. Brown after June 1, but they could face some competition.

For about the last month, the Patriots have been the only team linked to Brown. It got to the point where most insiders were expecting a deal to get done when the calendar flipped to June. However, in the last few days, reports of other teams being interested have led insiders to believe the Eagles may entertain more offers, potentially driving up the price.

It's worth noting that even amid these reports, insiders are still saying Brown's likely landing spot is the Patriots. The Los Angeles Rams are a team that has come up as a potential competitor for New England, but NFL insider Albert Breer says he would be surprised if he were traded there. The Rams reportedly got close to acquiring Brown earlier this offseason.

"I'd be surprised if it was the Rams because they went so far down the road on it before, and I think a couple of things derailed it," Breer said on Arbella Early Edition on Wednesday. "No. 1, I think there was some concern about the knee and No. 2, if they were going to trade for A.J. Brown, it was going to be while offloading Davante Adams."

Brown is an elite receiver who would make any contender better. He grew up a Patriots fan and has noted his desire to play for the team. He also has a relationship with Mike Vrabel from their time together on the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots make sense as a landing spot, and it does not seem like the Rams are a real threat to land him.

It may be too late for them to offload Adams, making adding Brown far more difficult.
