Rochester opened the scoring in the first inning. Dylan Crews worked a one-out walk and Yohandy Morales ripped a double to left, putting two in scoring position. Andres Chaparro hit a two-run single up the middle to score both runners and give Rochester a 2-0 lead.

Lehigh Valley responded in the second inning against Rochester starter Trevor Gott. Dylan Carlson drew a leadoff walk and scored on Paul McIntosh’s line-drive double to center, then Stewart Berroa followed with a two-run home run to right field to put the IronPigs ahead 3-2. Gott exited after the home run and Holden Powell took over in relief.

IronPigs regain control in middle innings

Rochester tied the game in the third inning without a hit. Morales walked, stole second and reached third on a wild pitch before Andrew Pinckney's groundout to the mound brought him home.

The IronPigs took the lead again in the fourth inning. Christian Cairo beat out an infield single, stole second and scored on Berroa's RBI single to right, giving Lehigh Valley a 4-3 edge.

IronPigs' bullpen shuts down Red Wings

Lehigh Valley's bullpen was effective. Michael Mercado, Grant Holman and Seth Johnson combined for six scoreless innings, holding the Red Wings to four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Rochester's best threat came in the fifth, when Chaparro walked and Pinckney doubled him to third, but a groundout, flyout and strikeout ended the inning with both runners stranded.

Insurance runs seal outcome

Lehigh Valley added insurance runs in the eighth inning. Cairo singled and advanced to third on McIntosh’s single to left, then Otto Kemp lined an RBI single to center off Rochester reliever Seth Shuman. After Eddy Yean entered, Liover Peguero hit a ground-ball single to left to score McIntosh and cap the scoring at 6-3.

Berroa finished 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base, while Kemp went 4-for-4 with a double, RBI and a steal as the IronPigs went 6-for-15 with runners in scoring position. Morales led Rochester with two hits, two runs and a stolen base. Chaparro collected 2 RBI and Pinckney drove in a run.

The loss puts Rochester at 22-20, while Lehigh Valley climbs to 20–22.
