Perez addressed several sensitive topics surrounding the club following what had already been described as a chaotic and highly unusual press conference.
Among the main talking points were the futures and performances of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., the two global stars expected to lead Real Madrid into a new era.
When asked directly about both players, Perez appeared to place Mbappe above Vinicius in the current hierarchy at the club, pointing to the Frenchman’s numbers in front of goal this season.
“Mbappe? He’s the best player at Real Madrid right now; he’s been awarded the Golden Boot.
“Vinicius? I think he’s one of the great players this club has,” he stated without any hesitation.
Praise for Mbappe
The Real Madrid president continued by praising Mbappe’s adaptation to life in Madrid, while also hinting that there are still areas of improvement expected from the French superstar moving forward.
“Mbappe is the one who scores the most goals. There’s something we need to improve on, but I’m not going to get into that. How many goals has he scored this year?

“His job is to score lots of goals. I think he has understood what Real Madrid is all about,” he said
And then he revealed, “I haven’t spoken to Mbappe since he’s been here; if I see him at training, I say hello,” he added.
On Vinicius and his renewal
The conversation then shifted towards Vinicius and the growing speculation surrounding his contract renewal.
While Perez attempted to distance himself from the negotiations, his comments made it clear that the Brazilian remains highly valued within the club.
“But I’m not the one renewing his contract. To me, Vinicius seems like one of the great players Madrid has. He won the last two Champions Leagues.
“There’s no rush to renew his contract; we have the whole season to talk about it.
“Do you think I’m in charge of everything? That’s for the sporting directorate to deal with,” he concluded.
