The Varsity 845 boys baseball players of the week polls are online for May 4-10. Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845 and nominations. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.
One athlete per school is allowed per week. A poll winner will be ineligible for the next poll.

Varsity 845 boys baseball player of the week (May 4-10, large)

A.J. Brown, Valley Central
He struck out 11 batters as the Vikings beat Monticello 7-3 on May 5.
Will Burretto, Minisink Valley
He had a single, double and RBI as the Warriors beat Washingtonville 10-0 on May 4. On May 7, he had two singles and two RBI in a 2-1 win over Goshen.
Rudy Cherry, Middletown
He struck out nine and won a five-hitter as the Bears nipped Chester 2-1 on May 5.
Nick Colello, Monroe-Woodbury
He had three hits and three RBI as the Crusaders beat Pine Bush 13-3 on May 4.
Mason Franklin, Wallkill
He had a double, three singles and three RBI as the Panthers fell to Lourdes 11-8 on May 4. The next day he had two hits in a 12-2 loss to Roosevelt.
Robert Lawrence, Pine Bush
He had a double and two RBI as the Bushmen fell to Monroe-Woodbury 13-3 on May 4.
Ben O’Keefe, Washingtonville
He fanned five and added a single as the Wizards fell to Minisink Valley on May 4.
Landon Vangaasbeck, Kingston
He had two hits and two RBI as the Tigers downed Newburgh 13-6 on May 7.

He won a three-hitter and fanned 14 as the Bulldogs beat Seward 6-2 on May 4. He added two hits in a 16-8 win over O’Neill on May 8.
Nick DeRosa, S.S. Seward
He fanned 13 as the Spartans bowed to Sullivan West 6-2 on May 4.
Mason DaVall, Highland
He had three hits and two RBI as the Huskies beat Rhinebeck 16-6 on May 4. The next day he had a three-run double in an 11-3 win over Spackenkill.
Nick Drewnowski, New Paltz
He had three singles, a two-run homer and four RBI as the Huguenots beat Rondout Valley 21-1 on May 8,
Logan Garvey, Chapel Field
He hit a two-run homer as the Lions blanked Tri-Valley 11-0 on May 4.
Luke Johnson, Rondout Valley
He had two hits an RBI in the Ganders’ 21-1 loss to New Paltz on May 8.
Ben Johnston, Rockland
He struck out six as the Wolves lost to Eldred 9-4 on May 4.
Nick Sharp, Chester
He had two hits in the Hambletonians’ 11-1 loss to Beacon on May 4.
Justin Simon, Liberty
He had two hits and an RBI in the Redhawks’ 13-1 loss to Chester on May 8.
Brayden Soma, Marlboro
He had two singles, a double and two RBI as the Dukes topped Red Hook 11-4 on May 7.
Mason Tice, Tri-Valley
He had three hits, an RBI and five stolen bases for the week.
Joe Valentin, Ellenville
He had two hits, an RBI and fanned 14 in the Blue Devils’ 3-2 loss to Rhinebeck on May 7.
Ty VanValkenburg, Saugerties
He had two hits in the Sawyers’ 2-1 loss to Roosevelt on May 4. On May 7, he had two singles and an RBI as the Sawyers beat Hudson 5-3. On May 8, he had two hits and RBI in a 6-2 win over Wallkill.
Evan Zgrodek, Eldred
He had two hits, three RBI and struck out 15 for the win as the Yellowjackets beat Rockaldn 9-4 on May 4.
