Recruiting Roundup: A Recent Commit Explains Why He Chose UW & Other Notes

· Yahoo Sports

Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there today. Today I wanted to share a recent interview I did with 3 star offensive lineman Reis Russell, who recently committed to UW. Russell, who is from Valor Christian HS in Colorado, chose UW over some heavy weight programs including Miami, USC, Oregon, and Georgia. Here is what Reis had to say after his recent UW commitment.

UWDP: you had a lot of great schools besides UW after you? What was it about UW that made it feel like home?

This staff is really what it came down to. My relationships within the staff is awesome. I love them all and it feels a like a big family up there.

UWDP: Now that you are committed what are you focusing on for your upcoming season?

The main focus now is getting that state ring! The boys are so fired up for this season and excited to win it all!

UWDP: Which other players are you recruiting now in the 2027 especially along the offensive line?

I’m after a few. Getting Gecova, Lincoln, and DaJohn is going to be huge. I was at the junior day with them and we had a great time together.

UWDP: Are you planning on enrolling early?

Yes I will be early enrolling and can’t wait!

Russell is a massive piece for the Huskies in the 2027 class and figures to be capable to contribute early for the Huskies. Speaking of massive pieces the Huskies are trying to head into Texas and land one of the top wideouts again in the 2027 class. 4 star wide receiver Tre Moore from Pflugerville HS recently narrowed his recruitment down to Miami, Ohio State, and UW. The Huskies have been after Moore for a long time and will get his last visit on June 19th. It wont be easy but I suspect the Huskies are doing better than most people realize with him and he is a prospect we need to monitor.

That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp. Don’t forget to say thank you to all of the moms out there for what they do.
