TOW-TALLY RECKLESS: Tow trucks plow through crash scene in Mississauga

Two tow-truck drivers face charges for allegedly crashing through a collision scene in Mississauga and nearly running down an officer late last year.
After causing mayhem at the crash scene while cops were investigating, the tow-truck operators then allegedly took off. And the chaos was captured on video, which has now been released by Peel Regional Police.

“We’ve all seen tow trucks driving like fools, but this was next level,” Const. Tyler Bell said in the video.
Police said the frenzy unfolded after officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Mavis Rd. and Queensway W. around 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2025.
Racing to crash scene to secure a tow
“While officers and other first responders were assisting those involved, two tow trucks, believed to be racing to the crash to secure a tow, lost control and crashed through the active police scene,” police alleged in a statement released this week.
The video shows an officers lunging to get out of the path of the vehicles as the tow trucks speed across the grass boulevard and plow into the collision site.
“Back in December, officers were working a crash scene in Mississauga when two tow trucks out of nowhere came barrelling through the scene as they were racing to the crash,” Bell said, describing the harrowing incident.
“One (tow truck) nearly hit an officer and a bystander and the other actually struck one of the cars from the initial crash. And instead of stopping to see if they hurt anybody, they took off, again driving like maniacs.”
Police said officers canvassed the area for witnesses and located CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crash that allegedly “shows both trucks being driven recklessly at high rates of speed in residential areas, running stop signs and traffic lights.”

‘Complete disregard for public safety’
Both tow-truck drivers allegedly demonstrated “a complete disregard for public safety,” police said.
“Fortunately, no injuries were reported,” police said.
After a “thorough investigation,” police say two suspects have since been identified and subsequently arrested.
Abdulaziz Omar and Bilal Nofal, both 30 years old and from Mississauga, are each charged with dangerous operation; failure to stop after an accident; flight from a peace officer; disobeying a stop sign – failure to stop; driving a motor vehicle – performing a stunt; tow-truck driver – failure to comply with prescribed requirements and standards; and tow-truck driver engaging in a prohibited practice.
While the video footage is shocking, Bell pointed out that not all tow-truck operators should be judged by the incident.
“It doesn’t reflect the many professionals that do this job, a thankless and a dangerous job, the right way,” he said.
