Titans rookie UDFA has this mind-blowing stat working in his favor
· Yahoo Sports
The Tennessee Titans held rookie minicamp over the weekend. They confirmed the signing of 11 undrafted free agents, who all participated. The rookie draft picks worked with the strength and conditioning staff. Roughly 50 prospects also practiced with the Titans on a tryout basis.
Two of those undrafted signings are wide receivers. Tyren Montgomery out of John Carroll and Hank Beatty out of Illinois signed contracts with the Titans. Montgomery has drawn lots of buzz after being a D-III wideout who thrived at the Senior Bowl. He accumulated 2,600 receiving yards in two seasons after not playing high school football.

Beatty perhaps deserves more attention than he’s receiving. The signing of Montgomery has overshadowed the other undrafted receiver. This one college football stat perfectly captures how intriguing Beatty is.
Pro Football & Sports Network posted college drop rates for wide receivers across 2024-25. Beatty had the lowest drop rate of any eligible receiver at 0.9%, according to Tru Media. Fellow Titans rookie wideout Carnell Tate had the 8th-lowest drop rate on the list at 2.3%.

An Illinois native, Beatty took a massive step forward in 2025. He recorded 70 receptions for 864 yards and three touchdowns. Beatty led the Fighting Illini in receptions and receiving yards. He averaged a healthy 12.3 yards per catch.
Beatty is also very experienced on special teams. He’s returned 38 career punts for 531 yards and a touchdown. The Titans obviously have the elite Chimere Dike in those roles. If the Titans wanted to expand Dike’s role at receiver, Beatty is someone who could compete for kickoff/punt return duties.
Beatty might be the Titans’ most underrated UDFA. The Titans are fairly stacked at wide receiver, with Dike, Elic Ayomanor, Calvin Ridley, Tate, and Wan’DAle Robinson on the roster. It’s going to be tough for an undrafted receiver to make the 53-man roster, but if Beatty’s chances are as good as Montgomery’s.
