Bengals draft grades aren't great...but the possible steals might be

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t fare all that well in new NFL draft grades fallout.

Not that the Bengals will care all that much: They landed some prospects they really like and turned the 10th overall pick into one of the NFL’s best nose tackles via the trade for Dexter Lawrence.

Still, it’s interesting to see the Bengals draft class land 19th overall.

The rankings come from CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson, who also offered some really interesting commentary on seventh-round pick Jack Endries.

On Endries, Wilson wrote this: “He's a dependable, old-school inline TE with strong hands and high-effort blocking who served as a reliable security blanket in the short-to-intermediate passing game at Purdue and then Texas. He was my TE3 and ended up as the 19th TE selected in the draft.”

The Bengals needed another all-around presence at tight end to counterweight the injury woes of Erick All going into the summer.

From the sounds of this one set of analysis, though, the Bengals might’ve stumbled onto a major steal.

And if the draft class for the Bengals produces Lawrence, playoff wins and steals into the seventh round, the franchise and fans won’t sweat it much that the efforts fell out of the top half of the NFL in instant gradings.
