NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 07: Ben Rice #22 and Aaron Judge #99 of the New York Yankees talk during the game against the Athletics at Yankee Stadium on April 7, 2026 in New York, New York. (Photo by New York Yankees/Getty Images) | Getty Images

The good times keep rolling in New York, as the Yankees returned to the Bronx and opened up their first series with the Orioles this year with a 7-2 victory. Will Warren was economical pitching into the seventh inning with just a single earned run against his name while picking up nine strikeouts, and the team spotted him a big early lead thanks to long balls from both José Caballero and Ben Rice. If they can secure the matinee game against Baltimore today, it would be their fifth-straight series win — and outside of that one awful week in the middle of April, winning series has been the expectation.

Before the game gets underway, we’ve got a busy slate completing the division check-ins: Josh covers the NL East, Matt the NL Central, and Peter the NL West. Outside of that, Andrew has the Rivalry Roundup with the rest of the division keeping pace and Kento wishes George Giles a happy birthday as the former New York Black Yankee would’ve turned 117 today.
