The Dexter franchise is no stranger to star-studded talent. John Lithgow, Jimmy Smits, Peter Dinklage, Neil Patrick Harris, and many other big names have all ended up on Dexter Morgan’s kill table over the years. It’s a chance for actors to come in and play some of the most twisted characters out there with minimal commitment, because they almost always get killed by the end of the season.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will continue to contribute to the starry body count with Brian Cox and Dan Stevens joining the cast as two new serial killers. Cox will play the role of the New York Ripper, an infamous serial killer who was teased in the first season but never seen. Stevens will play a brand-new character known as the Five Borough Killer. Not much is known about how they will factor into Dexter’s life this season, but it’s expected that they will be the main antagonists for Dexter.
However, it seems like there may be other threats in Dexter Morgan’s path. Dexter writer and producer Scott Reynolds confirmed on his social media that Kane Hodder has been cast in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. “We cast Kane Hodder and let fate do the rest,” said Reynolds in a post about the casting.
Hodder’s exact role remains under wraps, but he can be seen wearing thick work gloves inside a dingy building with covered-up windows. Reynolds also posted another picture from the Dexter: Resurrection set, which featured a wall that had the words “Hell Awaits” written on it in big red text. It certainly suggests that Hodder may be playing another killer, and one that likes to torment his victims.
Hodder is best known for playing one of the most iconic serial killers of all-time: Jason Voorhees. Hodder has played the hockey masked killer in four Friday the 13th films and also contributed to Friday the 13th: The Game. Hodder is also a prolific stuntman and doubled for Leatherface in Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw III. He also did the motion-capture for Leatherface in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game, released in 2023.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is expected to be released sometime later this year.
