Browns trade up to select OT Austin Barber in 2026 NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns have traded back into the third round to select Florida offensive tackle Austin Barber. Sitting 105th on the consensus board, according to Wide Left, this is not a player the Browns necessarily had to feel the urgency to trade up for.

Barber is an experienced starting tackle at the college level, playing over 2,700 snaps at the college level. He played exclusively left tackle for the Gators, but one has to wonder if perhaps the Browns view him as a swing tackle or a guard convert.
This presumably wraps up a day where the Browns landed wide receiver Denzel Boston and safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in the second round, traded out of the third round originally to land a 2027 fourth round pick, and then traded back up for Barber. Even if the value is a bit off here, the day was a good one overall for the Browns.
