Ohio state football transfer cornerback sheds his black stripe

· Yahoo Sports

Get used to it, Ohio State football fans. With 51 new players on the roster this season, there's going to be a slew of Buckeyes who come into the "brotherhood" by losing their black stripes through the spring and on into the fall.

We had one such occurrence after practice on Friday when Georgia cornerback transfer Domick Kelly was "officially" welcomed to the brotherhood in a short and sweet ceremony after practice, the team's 11th practice of the spring. As a freshman, Kelly was on the field for the Bulldogs for 61 snaps last season and tallied three tackles and three pass breakups. He now looks to be a bigger part of things for Ohio State's back end this coming season.

For his part, Kelly was awfully excited to receive the honor.

"I just want to thank Coach Walt (Tim Walton), I want to thank Coach P (Matt Patricia) for giving me the opportunity to be here," Kelly told teammates. "I want to thank B.I.A. (Best in America) for taking me in as one of y'all from Day 1. I want to thank 'Zone 6' for competing with me every day. Go Buckeyes!"

There will be plenty more black-stripe alerts forthcoming, and if you want a one-stop shop for it all, be sure to stay with us as we break the news and keep track of it all.
