Chelsea’s owners have put a strategy in place that seemingly favours a long term project more than anything else. So we have kept on hearing the words ‘patience’ and that this strategy will eventually come to fruition.

They have been buying up young talents before they get too expensive and hope they come good. If they don’t come good, they are just sold on for a profit. This means the squad has been raw and immature at times, and real sustained success could take time.

Gallas says that at Chelsea, you need success NOW!

In some quotes picked up on X this week, Gallas said:

“Speaking as a former player, especially for a big club like Chelsea, you do need success right away.”

And he’s right, unfortunately. Chelsea demands success, it’s part of the modern day culture here.

In other news today…

Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer has been speaking about Chelsea’s test against Man City this weekend and his own level of preparation. He’s also been speaking about his own form of late.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are closing on a deal to sign Valentin Barco from Strasbourg this summer, and it is Liam Rosenior who has apparently played a key role in convincing the player to join.
