Florida State leaves elite QB target 'speechless' after visit

Florida State was busy entertaining a group of top prospects on Tuesday during their spring practice. Four-star quarterback Israel Abrams was in attendance, and it was his first time on campus.

It was important for FSU to make a great impression on Abrams as he's a very sought-after recruit with around 30 offers. Needless to say, the Seminoles checked a lot of boxes with him.
“I’m speechless,” Abrams said via Warchant. “And I really think this is a really cool place, and people definitely should give it a shot.”
Coming into his visit, Abrams had Florida State as one of his top five schools. However, seeing as they didn't offer him until January, they had some ground to make up on schools like Auburn and Purdue.
After spending the day with several memebers of the coaching staff and attending quarterback meetings, Abrams sees FSU in a different light, and he mentioned that they improved their status with him.
“One-hundred percent,” Abrams said. “And that’s only because I got to see it, and that’s really all it is sometimes. You know, you can hear it. But once you really get to step foot in a place and really see the vibe and what it’s all about and the people and the coaches and the players… it changes your whole perspective on that place you’re at.”
One of the most important aspects for a quarterback is finding the right fit for their skill set. Abrams was able to watch guys like Ashton Daniels, who's projected to be the starter next season, and also Jaden O'Neal, a 2026 signee, operate the Seminoles' offense.
Not only does Abrams see similarities between himself and the two signal callers, but he feels the way Florida State plays offense can benefit him if he decides to commit.
“Maybe I could operate in an offense like that,” Abrams said. “It’s fast, it’s effective… if I came here, it’d be nothing but setting me up in a good position for my future.”
On Tuesday night, Abrams took to social media to rave about his trip to Tallahassee.

Thank you @CoachTuckerQB for taking the time to talk ball and watch film. I’m looking forward to getting back to @FSUFootball real soon," Abrams wrote.
FSU will host Abrams for an official visit in June, which will on between his official visits to Auburn and Kentucky. He's expected to make his decision after those trips are over. It'll be vital for Florida State to keep up with the communication with Abrams, and of course, impressive him once again when he returns.
Abrams is the No. 45 overall player and the No. 3 quarterback in the 2027 class per Rivals industry rankings. The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder is the No. 2 prospect in the state of Illinois as well.
