Panthers reportedly landing OLB Jaelan Phillips on massive deal

The Carolina Panthers might've made a very big splash at the start of the legal tampering period.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers are in agreement on a deal with outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips. Per Schefter, the sides have reached a four-year pact worth $120 million, with $80 million in guarantees.

After splitting his collegiate career between UCLA and Miami (Fla.), Phillips was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 18th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. He'd go on to post 8.5 sacks as a rookie, which still stands as his career high, along with 42 combined tackles and a fumble recovery.

Phillips, following a near-five-year run in Miami, was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in the middle of the 2025 campaign. He finished the season with 5.0 sacks while starting in each of his 17 outings.
