Oregon baseball vs. Purdue Game 3: Live score updates, analysis
· Yahoo Sports
Oregon baseball doesn't want to go home to Eugene, losing its first conference series of the season, and in order to make sure that doesn't happen, the Ducks are calling on starter Cal Scolari. Purdue will be throwing out left-hander Jarvis Evans in a morning tilt here on the West Coast.
This series has been a tale of two very different games.

Oregon won Game 1 in an offensive barrage, usual for a Friday game with two aces on the mound, but the Ducks still came away with the 8-7 victory. It broke the Boilermakers' eight-game win streak in conference openers. But in Game 2, Purdue used five pitchers that held the Oregon offense at bay, despite a brilliant outing from its own starter Collin Clarke in the 2-1 decision to the home team.
The Ducks had a sweep in mind as they had the tying run on base in the top of the ninth, but couldn't get that big hit in order to score, and Oregon had to settle for this Game 3 rubber game on Sunday.
Winning this final game in West Lafayette would set a good tone for the team for the next two weeks as the Ducks will fly home to prepare for a big eight-game homestand starting with Xavier for a brief two-game non-conference series at PK Park beginning on Tuesday.
