Col Glen, from the South Argyll communities of Colintraive and Glendaruel and promoted as National Division runners up, played their first ever Premiership match, losing 3-0 to Kinlochshiel.

Kingussie, under new manager and former star player Ronald Ross, opened their defence of the title with a 3-0 home win over Skye.

Fort William overwhelmed visitors Caberfeidh 4-0 while Newtonmore defeated Oban Camanachd 4-2 at Mossfield.

Connor Sweeney, Finlay MacDonald and Stuart Callison had rampant Lochaber 3-0 up by half time and Martin Johnstone completed the job.

Clachan of Glendaruel witnessed its first Premiership goal when Ali Nixon fired Kinlochshiel ahead after 12 minutes, with Jay MacRae following up before half time and Oliver MacRae completed the scoring.

It took Kingussie almost until half time to break Skye down. Dylan Borthwick's opener was followed by goals from Thomas Borthwick and Ruaraidh Anderson.

Victor Smith got the breakthrough for Fort William in the first half and Padraig McNeil, Lachie Shaw and Mark Fraser followed up in the second.

At Mossfield, Struan Ross opened for Newtonmore and Ross MacMillan equalised. Iain Robinson and Struan Ross's second made it 3-1 to Newtonmore at half time and Lewis Cameron pulled another back for Camanachd before Brodie MacBean grabbed Newtonmore's fourth.

Senior shinty's first goal of 2026 came at Balgate where Graeme MacMillan scored for newly-relegated Lovat against newly-promoted Oban Celtic in the opening minute.

This opened the floodgates and Lovat eventually prevailed 10-0, including a hat trick from MacMillan.

The National Division local derby produced a 3-1 home win for Glenurquhart over ten man Beauly while it was goalless in Rothesay between Bute and Kilmallie and Glasgow Mid Argyll edged visitors Inveraray 2-1.
