Willis, 26, would get a huge salary increase on his new deal. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Wednesday that teams around the league believe he would get at least $30 million per season. Willis was on his four-year, $5.1 million rookie deal that he signed with the Titans in 2022.

To put things into perspective, Sam Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the 2025 season. Darnold will earn a base salary of $12.3 million in 2026, added to a $15 million roster bonus.
Willis’ potential new salary would almost triple what Darnold will make in 2026. He has been linked with multiple teams ahead of free agency, but time will tell who pays what the league thinks he deserves.

Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn ImagesMalik Willis’ development under Matt LaFleur was in full effect last season. While he only played four games, he did a solid job whenever he took the field. Willis went 30 of 35 for 42 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball 22 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Playing behind Jordan Love would not allow him to develop. He will likely have better options somewhere else, as the Packers are locked in on their franchise quarterback.
